WWOZ Community Advisory Board

The WWOZ Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a volunteer group comprised of interested listeners and community leaders, who meet several times a year to gather public comments and advise the station as to whether the activities and policies of the station meet the specialized cultural needs of the community. The Advisory Board is authorized by WWOZ and will serve at the pleasure of the governing body. The CAB is solely advisory in nature, and does not exercise any control over WWOZ’s daily management or operations.

The CAB's mission is to provide a vehicle for effective community input to the station’s governing body about station programming, community service and impact on the community from the station’s major policy decisions.

The Advisory Board was created for the purpose of advising and deliberating independently of WWOZ Board of Directors and management on matters that concern programming, services, outreach, and advocacy.

As established by federal law, the CAB reviews the programming goals established by WWOZ, the service provided by WWOZ, and the significant policy decisions rendered by WWOZ, and assesses whether the programming and other policies of the station are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the communities served by the station. The meetings are open to the public.
