2026 Brass Pass: Get Yours Before They're Gone

We've sold much of our allotment of WWOZ Brass Passes for Jazz Fest 2026, so get yours before they're gone! A Brass Pass allows unlimited access to the WWOZ Hospitality Tent, a source of fresh fruit, iced coffee, seating, WiFi, and restrooms. Brass Passes are fully transferable and allows same day re-entry for every day. They come with a full year’s tax-deductible membership to WWOZ, and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to the station so we can continue to guard the groove and bring the sounds of New Orleans and Jazz Fest to the world!

Join Us for Piano Night!

WWOZ's Piano Night benefit show happens at the House of Blues on April 27, the Monday night between Jazz Fest weekends. We'll have five hours of piano music on the Music Hall main stage, with a line up of 25 piano players, including Bill Payne of Little Feat, Jojo Hermann of Widespread Panic, Jon Cleary, Judith Owen, Joe Krown, River Eckert, Tom McDermott, Oscar Rossignoli, John "Papa" Gros, Josh Paxton, BC Coogan, Tom Worrell, Al "Lil Fats" Jackson and a dozen more.

Uptown Super Sunday Photos + Video

Uptown Super Sunday happened last weekend in and around A.L. Davis Park in Central City. It's a gathering of Black Masking Indian Tribes celebrating their heritage and culture in a magnificent display of hand-sewn suits, singing, dancing and chanting. Check out our Super Sunday video and photos at the links below. The Tribes will be on the street again on Thursday, March 19 for St Joseph's Night.

Congo Square Rhythms Festival, March 28-29

The 2026 Congo Square Rhythms Festival happens March 28-29 in Armstrong Park, another free event from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. This festival celebrates dance and musical traditions from Africa, the Caribbean, the American Gulf South and beyond. There'll be two stages with performances by the Zigaboo Modeliste Funk Revue, Cha Wa, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, New Breed Brass Band, Charmaine Neville Band, Bamboula 2000 and lots more. Plus there'll be Drum Circles, an Arts Market, a Mardi Gras Indians battle, and the Class Got Brass competition. If you can't make it, check out our live video stream--details at the link below.

Show Host Profile: Michael Dominici

Not many people can point to an obsession with an early 20th century piano player from New York as the reason they’re on the radio today in New Orleans, but then, WWOZ show host Michael Dominici isn’t just any research-driven Fats Waller fanatic. That same drive to learn everything he can about a particular musician, and by extension, discover other musicians via their shared recordings, has been a hallmark of Michael’s approach to his show. His never-ending deep dive in musical history coupled with an inexhaustible interest in today’s creative community in New Orleans means that the past, present and future can be heard on Thursday’s New Orleans Music Show. Listening to Michael talk about his 30 years on the air is like taking a master class in enthusiasm. “I’m trying to open doors and find little jewel boxes of history and musical interest. New Orleans is a big landscape of different things. The musicians are going to point you to these things because that’s what they’re about. It’s fun, it’s interesting, and I don’t want the listener to miss out on any of it.”
