As LMF’s premier annual event, Founders Ball raises essential support for the exhibitions, educational programs, and preservation efforts of the Louisiana State Museums, safeguarding our state’s rich and multifaceted history for generations to come.
This year’s celebration will showcase Michalopoulos: Mystical Expressionism, A Walk Through New Orleans Neighborhoods. Featuring more than seventy works spanning from the early 1980s to the present, this exhibition explores the prolific forty-year career of James Michalopoulos, whose expressive, vibrant paintings celebrate and inspire efforts to preserve the vernacular architecture of New Orleans.
Guests will enjoy an evening of refined hospitality, including exceptional cuisine from Dickie Brennan & Co. Catering; speciality cocktails from Movers & Shakers; live music from Joshua Starkman with Charlie Gabriel, Tarriona "Tank" Ball of Tank and the Bangas, the Slick Skillet Serenaders, and Rebirth Brass Band; and a gathering of Louisiana’s most dedicated cultural patrons—all set against the backdrop of one of the state’s most famed and iconic cityscape - The Cabildo on historic Jackson Square.
