7-10pm | The Roots of Music (TROM) is proud to honor their eighteenth anniversary with a gala on their new campus, in the historic St. Gabriel The Archangel Church.

This event will feature live music, food and drink, and a silent auction, all benefitting The Roots of Music’s programs.

From humble beginnings as a six-week drum program at Tipitina’s, to now serving close to 250 students and having a home of its own, the growth of Roots’ programming is truly something to celebrate. The gala will consist of musical performances by the Roots Studio Academy All Star Band, the Marching Crusaders, and special guest performers, including The Original Pinettes Brass Band and Ani DiFranco.

The theme, “Home Sweet Home”, pulls attention to the venue of the gala- TROM’s campus in Gentilly Woods. The organization closed on the property earlier this year and has shifted its programming to the new facility. The property underwent renovations from the moment it was acquired by TROM and will function to provide space for current and future students to grow as musicians. The Roots of Music is beyond proud of the effort it took to get to this point and their Home Sweet Home Gala is just one way to showcase the fruits of their labor.
