Ecirb Müller's Twisted Dixie is the brainchild of veteran musician Brice Miller, a staple on the New Orleans music scene who can be found performing as a trumpeter and vocalist in several popular jazz bands, and also working as a music educator and entrepreneur. The Grammy-nominated Miller founded Twisted Dixie as an antidote to what he perceives as the staid, caught-in-amber nature of traditional jazz. What he calls NuTrad funks up the genre with an urban hipness and includes elements of hip-hop, funk, free jazz, go-go, and swing. The Frenchmen Street favorites pack clubs, festivals, and corporate gigs with enthusiastic dancers and fans who appreciate the trad jazz sound in an updated setting.
