Mardi Gras Indian Council
The council consists of chiefs from over a dozen tribes who meet regularly to discuss and implement programs that further interest among youth, and to collaborate on positive social and community activities.

The 2026 Super Sunday Festival is more than an event—it is a living tradition celebrating culture, community, music, and the enduring spirit of New Orleans.
The Ringing of Peace is a unified gathering of Mardi Gras Indian tribes from throughout the city will officially open the festival at the Mardi Gras Indian Council Garden Stage. Tribes will celebrate the new Garden space with tambourines, drums, and traditional chants.
Following the Ringing of Peace, tribes will continue chanting and ringing down to the Dew Drop Inn & Lounge (2800 LaSalle Street) to join the Kick-Off Party.
