LAYAYA’s 9th Annual Sundae Fundae Serves Up Sweet Fun, Star Wars Guests, and Summer Art! Saturday, August 10th | 1PM – 4PM LAYAYA Creative Community Center | 104 Croatian Way, Belle Chasse, LA Get ready to chill out and geek out—because the 9th Annual LAYAYA Sundae Fundae Ice Cream Social is back, and it’s going to be our coolest celebration yet! This FREE family-friendly event will be held Sunday, August 10th from 1–4PM at the LAYAYA Imaginarium Creative Community Center, located next to the Belle Chasse Ferry Terminal. You won’t want to miss this sweet summer bash packed with art, animals, science, and sprinkles! Here’s the Scoop: Enjoy a build-your-own ice cream bar complete with cones and a full lineup of sundae toppings. Our handmade ice cream is lovingly crafted by Sprinkle In Time Ice Cream (Belle Chasse, LA), featuring the community’s top-voted flavors: Vanilla • Chocolate • Salted Caramel • Birthday Cake • Cookies & Cream Come meet the Galaxy's Coolest Guests: Stormtroopers, rebels, and a few surprises from the 501st Legion will be making a special appearance in the Lavada Lounge for epic photo ops and meet-and-greets. Whether you’re Team Jedi or leaning toward the Dark Side, the Force will definitely be with us. Our young LAYAYA artists have spent the summer painting animal portraits, which will debut in our “Pawtraits” youth art show. Many works will be available for purchase to benefit LAYAYA and the Plaquemines Parish LASPCA, who will be onsite with adorable, adoptable furry friends looking for forever homes. You can also sign up for one of our 21+ “Pawtraits Painting Parties” where you can paint a canvas of your own pet. The canvas is prepared for you to paint with a sketch of your pet in advance. LAYAYA will also be registering for the 2025-2026 school year session in visual arts, theater and culinary arts for ages 6-18 and offering a $25 registration waiver voucher at the event. There will be free seafood Jambalaya served up along with the ice cream and other treats. During the event there will also be hands-on science experiments with Professor Kaboom in the new Weird Science Laboratory. Come for the jambalaya and ice cream and also get a guided tours of the LAYAYA Imaginarium by our Young Ambassadors, enjoy some games, win some prizes, or purchase original art for sale to benefit LAYAYA programming.
