Curren$y is a New Orleans born rapper who grew out of the city’s hip-hop scene forwarded by the hit-making labels Cash Money, Master P’s No Limit, and Young Money. Curren$y, whose real name is Shante Scott Franklin, was a member of the 504 Boyz, appearing on their song “Get Back,” which broke out as a feature on the soundtrack of the 2003 movie, “Malibu’s Most Wanted.” Curren$y has recorded with a host of rap artists ranging from Master P and Soulja Slim to L’il Wayne and Wiz Khalifia. Curren$cy is a prolific solo artist and collaborator, working lately with Harry Fraud, Jet Life, Kino Beats, and DJ Fresh, among others, His most recent release, the 2023 “Vices,” is a joint project with Harry Fraud.
